A Message From St. Vincent De Paul At St. Saviour

Posted: Nov 14, 2017 | Category: St. Vincent De Paul,

It’s Fall! November & December and a time for Thanksgiving for all our blessings and giving to those dear to us at Christmas.
St. Saviour SVDP again will be providing Thanksgiving Dinners and will have items on the Parish’s Giving Trees for Christmas.

For Thanksgiving, the PSR children and their families will collect and donate all the fixings such as canned vege-tables, cranberry sauce, instant potatoes, rolls, baking pans, gravy, mac & cheese and more. SVDP is again asking for donations of turkeys, all sizes, for approximately 20—25 meals.

The tags for Christmas gifts on the giving trees will be available the weekends of November 18 & 19 and 25 & 26, with the gifts to be returned by Sunday, December 3.

Once again, many of these gifts for our clients will be in the form of gift cards. While it seems impersonal, a gift card allows the parents the dignity to purchase items for their children, and it helps make sure that the correct style and size of clothing and other items meet the needs of the children.

The Thanksgiving Dinners and Christmas gifts are de-livered to our neighborhood clients by members of St. Saviour St. Vincent De Paul.

Thank you!

A Message From St. Vincent De Paul At St. Saviour

Posted: Nov 2, 2017 | Category: St. Vincent De Paul,

First, again Blessings and Thanks to our Parishioners and friends who support St. Vincent de Paul with prayers, food and donations through our Fifth Sunday Collections and memorial donations. We would not be able to help our neighbors without your support. Through the first six months of 2017, our parish has supplied the following:

Rent or Mortgage $3,485
Gas & Electric $2,964
Water $2,712
Food Vouchers $4,064
Food Donations (Pantry) $4,831
Car Repairs $ 138
Misc. Dental, Transportation, Medical and Eyewear $ 355

None of the above is possible without your generous assistance and support.

Our St. Vincent de Paul at St. Saviour as little as five years ago had 17 members to take and handle calls, make home visits, make phone calls, stock our pantry and other necessary functions. Time has diminished our ranks as a result of illness, job transfers, deaths and simply inabilities due to age. We currently have nine to ten active members of which 90% are over 65 years of age. We will provide, in the next four to five weeks, a flyer describing Vincentian duties which in turn, will also give those interested an opportunity to join and participate in St. Saviour’s St. Vincent de Paul.

P.S. October has five Sundays so please remember the needy in our area and help us (SVDP)
If you have any questions or would like additional information, please call Mike Hathorn at 984-1516.

Christmas Giving Tree

Posted: Nov 17, 2016 | Category: CAIN, St. Vincent De Paul,

Tags will be available for pick up NEXT weekend!

This year’s recipients will be:
St. Vincent De Paul - make Christmas a little nicer for families in your neighborhood.
We will be placing gift tags on the trees in church and ask that parishioners purchase a gift requested for approximately $25. Some families have asked for gift cards, which may seem impersonal, but it allows the parents the dignity to purchase items for their children or buy a larger gift for the family.
(Green Tag - please wrap this gift if possible)

CAIN - gifts for teens will insure a happy holiday for those less privileged. (Red Tag - do not wrap this gift, please!)

MATTHEW 25 MINISTRIES—Your monetary donation will help them provide emergency relief to those suffering from natural disasters. Please place your donation in the collection basket or bring to the Parish Office

We’d like to have these returned by Sunday, December 4, 2016
